Weeks of Excitement

First, I'd like to tell all 3 of our readers that I'm sorry that this post is so long in coming. I'm sure everyone is biting their nails waiting for the next post. Well - here it is.

The first major event that happened since I blogged, is Easter. Nathan is amazing at egg hunting. He found all 12 of them with no problems. And this year, he was much gentler with handling the eggs which is great since they were all real.

Here he is with his Easter basket on Easter morning. The Easter Bunny brought a soccer/hockey/lacrosse set that Mommy and Daddy have had the honor of playing with each day since Easter.

The next thing that occurred in our super fun world was Mother's Day. I had a great day that started with a delicious Jersey diner breakfast.

Then we spent the afternoon chalking out in the driveway.

Look at what Nathan quickly drew up! We know where his loyalties are...We also started a very important project on Mother's Day weekend. We are converting the spare bedroom to Nathan's new Big Boy bedroom. He is already loving his new bed. Randy is doing a great job so far at painting the room. More pictures of the transformation to come.

We are obviously moving Nathan in his new room to make way for our 2nd amazing little boy. He doesn't have an official name yet, but I promise we'll have one before he arrives in September. Nathan talks about his "little brutter" every day and can't wait to play with him. He has also decided to share 2 of his 17,000 toys that he has with the baby. Isn't that generous of the "big brutter"?

To go along with the big boy theme, we decided it was time to get Nathan to his first dentist appointment. The first part went well...until the dentist actually wanted him to open his mouth. I won't go into detail about the 10 minute exam, but let's just say it involved restraints, tears, and screaming. Thank goodness we only have to go every 6 months. After the appointment was over, Nathan was so proud of himself that he told everyone at school that day that he went to the dentist. I'm glad his recollection of the event is not quite reality... The one thing that did come of the appointment was the dentist's recommendation to get Nathan to stop thumb sucking. I asked what we should use to get him to stop, and he said "Just talk to him about it and convince him he doesn't want to do it". Ha - I thought to myself. Logic on a 2 year old? No way would that work. But sure enough, we had a short conversation about it that evening and hasn't sucked his thumb since. It has been great.

Here is a picture of Nathan and Grammy during one of her visits.

So that's an update on us. I'll try to be more regular with my postings.

Dyeing Eggs

This Easter, Pap Pap, Nonnie, and Uncle Bobby joined us for our annual egg dyeing festivities. Pap Pap is a professional egg dyer and likes to make crazy multicolored eggs.

I think Unlce Bobby needs help posing for pictures :)

Easter Egg Hunt

Last weekend we traveled to Pittsburgh for Logan's Baptism. We also got to see Jen and Stephen's new house. I didn't take any pictures while with them, but check out their blog as I'm sure they are going to post pictures on both events as soon as they get settled into their new house.

On Saturday, Nathan participated in his first Easter Egg Hunt. Nathan got to see his buddy Luke at the Egg Hunt.

Look at all those eggs in the basket! That's my boy! Look at how cute my boys look...
Grammy and Nathan after gathering the all the eggs.
Nathan was scared of the Bunny so Grammy and Charlie posed for the picture.

My little Pele

Our little guy started soccer yesterday. He had so much fun running around with the other kids, kicking balls, and doing various other "drills." Here are some pics from the first practice.

Luckily this was towards the end of class.

Out and About

We haven't been up to much lately. A few weeks ago we went to see another Sesame Street Live show. This picture was taken right before Nathan knocked the cardboard cut-out of Big Bird over. I realized we didn't have any recent pictures with Mommy and Daddy in them. I love cuddling with my little man.

And so does Daddy...

Nathan is back in swim lessons. He is doing so much better with his jumps, paddles, and kicks. And Daddy is doing better at helping Nathan swallow less water :)

Growing Up Too Fast!

From big boy bikes to big boy beds, we have seen it all in the last week. Nathan has been showing signs that he is ready for a toddler bed, so we converted his crib. The first night was rough. The second night was a little easier and we are hoping each night gets better and better. Here is Nate lounging in his bed after waking up from his nap.

After struggling to get this helmet on for a week, we were finally able to get it on his head. After that, he was so excited to hit the pavement with his new wheels. He is getting much faster and we even went for a walk with it around the neighborhood. He only wears the helmet cause Uncle Bobby also wears a helmet when he rides his bike.

Baby Bradley Heck (my friend Kim's baby) was born on February 16th. We visited them last weekend and Nathan loved posing for pictures with Brad. Brad was a super cutie and I loved holding a tiny baby again.

I'm 2!!!

Nathan's Cars themed birthday party was a huge success. So glad we could get all the family together to celebrate the day. Here are some pics.
