Cousins Finally Meet

My cousin Ryan, his wife Jess, and their 2 year old son Evan stopped by for a quick visit today. Nathan and Evan loved playing together. They played trucks, read books, and wrestled in the spaceship. Nathan cried when they had to leave. He missed his new friend.

Running Around...

We spent last weekend in Virginia Beach running another marathon. Randy did the full and I did the half. We both achieved personal records which was quite the accomplishment given the warm weather and the terrible cold Randy was fighting. We had gorgeous weather and even got to take Nathan out on the beach for a little while. Randy's mom was nice enough to travel with us for the weekend to help us take care of Nathan.

First Haircut

Nathan had his first haircut yesterday. He was so well behaved and looked so cute after it was all done. He even got a certificate with his name, the date, and a lock of his hair for us to remember the day by.

5 Blissful Years of Marriage

Friday was our 5 year anniversary. We had been planning to go out on Saturday night, but Nathan's ear infection came back on Friday afternoon. Luckily we had it under control by Saturday and we could still go out. My Dad, Barb, and Bobby watched Nathan for the night. We are so appreciative that we had the opportunity to spend some time to ourselves.

We decided to spend the night in the same hotel where we spent out wedding night. Its a great hotel that overlooks the water in Philly. We also went to a fabulous steakhouse called Union Trust. Its a converted bank with high ceilings. They made the dessert extra special for us. Here are some pictures of our evening.

Pink Eye has hit our house

I jinxed us! As Nathan turned 1, I hi-fived Randy because we made it 1 whole year without Nathan needing a sick appointment at the doctor. Only 5 days after his birthday, that all changed. When I picked him up from daycare today, he had a crusty pink eye. I took him straight to the doctor's and they confirmed conjunctivitis and an ear infection. He'll start antibiotics tonight and will be ready to go back to school on Friday. I'm sure he'll be fine, but I'm saying a prayer anyway.

This weekend, we celebrated Nathan's birthday. We were so proud of our little man. All of our family came to visit and it was so nice having everyone around. Here is a video and a lot of pictures of his special day.

Look Who's Turning 1!!

For the last few weeks, Randy and I have been endlessly talking about Nathan turning 1. We can't believe how so much development can take place in 1 year. This is our last week for using baby formula. So long bottles - only sippy cups here. The crib is on its lowest setting. Nathan has shoes that tie (although he still can't tie them himself). We can roughhouse. These are just a few of the changes that our baby has had to become a little boy.

But as we bring Nathan's first year to a close, we thought we'd get pictures taken. He pretty much cried the entire time. I guess he isn't the easy going baby he was 6 months ago :) Here are a few from his photo shoot.
