Happy Birthday to Us!

Randy's birthday was on Friday. We went out for a delicious dinner at PF Changs (where else?)! Then we had a fun and relaxing weekend hanging out around the house. The fun continues with my birthday tomorrow. I think we are going to enjoy some pasta on the patio at Brio!

Luckiest Mom in the World

On my 2nd Mother's Day, I can't help but reflect on how lucky I am to have Nathan in my life. He is a great kid with an awesome personality. He is sweet, funny, and sometimes dramatic. He makes me feel special by just being himself. So, to me, every day is Mother's Day.

Bruiser in the Springtime

The last few weeks have been a lot of fun for us. Nathan finally recovered from his Coxsackie virus after missing 2 days of school. Now, he loves running around the yard and pushing the bubble mower he received for his birthday. He pushes anything he can get his hands on including a broom and an adult size golf club. He is also learning some new words. His vocabulary now includes book, car, and gorilla. Yeah, that's right. He says ga-lil-a. Of course he gets shy around strangers and rarely shows off, but he says it nonstop at home. Here are a couple recents pictures of our amazing growing boy.

We've been calling him Bruiser this week since he had a run-in with a table at school. He has had a shiner for the last 4 days. He's totally cute no matter what...

Easter Week

Easter was a lot more fun this year with Nathan athough dying eggs was much less exciting (see post from last year). I haven't had time to download our videos yet, but they'll come some time this week.

The Easter Bunny left Nathan a huge sandbox. He had so much fun playing in the sand at VA Beach that we thought it would be the perfect gift to ask the Easter Bunny for. Nathan loved hunting for Easter Eggs and he threw each hard-boiled egg as hard as he could into his Easter basket. We had egg shells everywhere and it was adorable.

This weekend, Nathan got sick. We thought it was teething, but now we think its Coxsackie virus. We'll know for sure this afternoon when we take him to the doctor. It has been a rough weekend with little sleep, but he's a trouper and will be feeling better before we know it.

Cousins Finally Meet

My cousin Ryan, his wife Jess, and their 2 year old son Evan stopped by for a quick visit today. Nathan and Evan loved playing together. They played trucks, read books, and wrestled in the spaceship. Nathan cried when they had to leave. He missed his new friend.

Running Around...

We spent last weekend in Virginia Beach running another marathon. Randy did the full and I did the half. We both achieved personal records which was quite the accomplishment given the warm weather and the terrible cold Randy was fighting. We had gorgeous weather and even got to take Nathan out on the beach for a little while. Randy's mom was nice enough to travel with us for the weekend to help us take care of Nathan.

First Haircut

Nathan had his first haircut yesterday. He was so well behaved and looked so cute after it was all done. He even got a certificate with his name, the date, and a lock of his hair for us to remember the day by.
